The pedestal base is designed with built-in drain ports. This extra step helps resist corrosion by allowing rainwater and moisture to escape the unit. Just another “value added” manufacturing step built into all NuTone products. With this system, a indoor coil section is required if you have gas or oil heat. If you have a heat pump, then the matched air handler indoor section is required to complete the system.
